PROGRAMME OUTCOME:

By the end of the programme students will be able to:

PO1- The students acquire knowledge in the field of Social Science, Literature and Humanities which make them sensitive and sensible enough

PSO1-Understanding the origin and nature of state

PSO2- Study and analysed political contexts from critical and constructive prospective

PSO3- Have a better understanding of the working of various political institutions including decentralized institutions state legislature and parliament and relate this functioning to the greater cause of nation building as a responsible citizen

PSO4-Assess how global national and regional development affects policy and society

PSO5-To gain critical thinking and develop the ability to make logical inferences about socio-economic and political issues, on the basis of comparative and contemporary political discourses in India

PSO6-Contemplate about national and international issues involving states having different political ideologies and historical contexts

PSO7-Pursue higher education such as Post Graduate studies and research in political science and in other interdisciplinary areas to provide qualitative insights to create a better world

COURSE OUTCOME:

  1. BASIC CONSEPTS IN POLITICAL SCIENCE:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Political Science, theoretically and will gain knowledge to explain and analyze politics at large

CO2-The dynamics of Politics

CO3-To inculcate the democratic spirit

 

  1. POLITICAL THEORY:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-The nature and Relevance of Political Theory

CO2-The different concepts like liberty, equality, Justice and Rights

CO3-To reflect upon some of the important debates in political theory

 

  1. HUMAN RIGHTS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Explain the basic concepts of human rights its various formulations

CO2-Have necessary knowledge and skill for analyzing, interpreting, and applying the human rights standards and sensitize them to the issues

CO3-Develop ability to critically analyse Human Rights situations around them

 

  1. WESTERN POLITICAL THOUGHT:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-An introduction to the schools of political thought and theory making in the west

CO2-Introduce the richness and variations in the political perception of western thinkers

CO3-Familiarize themselves to the thought and theory of western philosophy

 

  1. INDIAN NATIONAL MOVEMENT AND CONSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Understand how the colonial rule was over thrown by the Indian Nationalist

CO2-Apprecite the ideals and values of Gandhi that resulted in freedom

CO3-Examine the problem of Independent India and the role played by great leaders in solving them

 

  1. INDIAN POLITY ISSUES:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Understand the Reason behind the causes of social and political issues of India and also the constitutional provisions that existed

CO2-Femilarize with the debate that emerged

CO3-Be able to suggest the measures to control such issues

 

  1. INDIAN GOVERNMENT AND POLITCS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- Outlining the basic values and philosophy of Indian Constitution as expressed in the preamble

CO2- Evaluating the structures of government at central and state level

CO3- Studying about Judiciary system of India

 

  1. PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURES IN INDIA:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Aim at understanding the procedural aspects of parliamentary system of governments.

CO2- Learn about the privileges of people’s representatives and match it with theirperformance

CO3-Understand the working of committees, budgetary aspects and deliberative mechanismwithin the parliament.

 

  1. ANCIENT INDIAN POLITICAL IDEAS AND INSTITUTIONS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- Reflection the native concepts like Dharma, Rajadharma, Nyaya, Viveka etc, in the light oftheir modern connotations.

CO2-Understand the role of texts and stories in the Indian context by reflecting upon our ownexperiences.

CO3-Revisit our own socio-political structures through the textual and non-textual sources fromthe early Indian period in order to quell the European representation of Indian Society andheritage.

 

  1. MODERN POLITICAL ANALYSIS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- Understand the key concepts of Political Institutional working and science within them.

CO2-Be familiar with the Phenomenon of politics and various explanations relating to the influencesthat mould the decision making process.

CO3-Help the students to visualize the working of political institutions and the process of decisionmaking through diagrammatic presentations

 

  1. INDIAN CONSTITUTION:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- Understand the philosophy of the Constitution and its structure.

CO2-Measure the powers and functions of various offices under the Constitution

CO3-Appreciate the role of Constitution in a Democracy

 

  1. GENDER AND POLITICS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-Answer how ideologies have shaped the women in politics

CO2-Bring awareness of the relevance of gender issues in politics

CO3-Through discussions on women and governance understand the ground realitiesabout politics in relation to women

 

  1. PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- The paper will introduce the students to the basic concepts of Public Administration along with its founding principles and history

CO2- The paper will also deal with the primary administrative theory and basic principle of organisation

CO3- The students will also learn about structure of organisation, communication, Leadership and Personnel Administration

 

  1. INTERNATIONAL POLITICS:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1-The students will get an overview about the nature, evolution and scope of International Relation

CO2- It will help them to get acquainted with the basic ideas of International Politics

CO3- It will also give them a historical background of war, its effect and importance of peace

 

  1. ADVANCED PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- To explain the concepts of Financial Administration in the country with special reference to the process and implementation of Budget

CO2- To explain the concept of control and accountability in administration (Lokapal, Lokayukta)

CO3- To introduce the concept of Development, Comparative Administration 

 

  1. INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION AND FOREIGN POLICY:

At the end of the course the students shall understand –

CO1- To explain the historical background, importance of International and Regional Organization

CO2- It will learn about International Political Economy System

CO3- It will help to get more knowledge about India’s Foreign Policy and its relationship with major countries of the world.
