About Library

Welcome to KLE Society’s S. Nijalingappa College Library, our Central Library with a total area of 3611.88 Sq. Mts. spread across three floors and offering seating for 298 individuals, enhancing the overall learning experience. The library is thoughtfully organized, featuring distinct sections for Textbooks, Reference Books, Journals, Periodicals, Circulation, Technical materials, Newspapers, New Arrivals, a Browsing area, a comfortable Lounge for relaxed reading, a dedicated Competitive Examination Study corner, and a Reading Hall for both students and faculty. Our library is fully automated through an Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) with E-Lib library software. This system provides advanced tools for various library housekeeping operations, including Member Registration, Book and Non-book Material Transactions, an Online Public Access Catalogue, and a Digital Repository accessible through remote login credentials.

The library boasts an impressive collection, with 133553, physical books, along with access to over 195809 online books and 11,000+ national and international journals, periodicals, magazines, CDs and DVDs. E-resources from INFLIBNET-NLIST and DELNET can be accessed either within the library or remotely. An OPAC system is in place to assist readers in searching for information using keywords, author names, titles, and more. Additionally, the library employs three major federated search engine tools, namely Search Aggregator, Index/web indexing, and web search queries, to locate articles and information across multiple databases.

To facilitate academic work, the library provides an ample number of computer terminals for searching e-resources and web browsing. We have an excellent ICT infrastructure with sufficient bandwidth to ensure fast and seamless internet access. User can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, internet access and access to downloading and photocopying facilities.
